What information I collect
I only collect information that helps me respond to you or provide therapy safely. This may include:
Your name, contact details, details of your GP practice and any other professionals involved in your care, next of kin details and details of any children that you are responsible for under the age of 18.
Information you share when you contact me.
Payment records.
Notes from therapy sessions that tend to be brief and are designed to help me keep track of topics/themes covered in therapy.
Notes from enquiries whether you choose to start therapy or not.
Basic website usage data (e.g., pages visited).
I don’t collect any information that I do not need.
How your information is used
I use your information to:
Reply to your enquiry.
Arrange and provide therapy sessions.
Keep appropriate clinical records.
Keep you safe if there are any risk concerns.
Improve my website.
I never sell your data or use it for marketing.
How long is your information kept
Information is kept for up to 7 years after therapy ends, in line with professional guidance. If you finish therapy whilst under the age of 18, your notes are kept until your 25th birthday.
How your information is stored
All notes and personal information are stored securely using encrypted systems.
Information sharing
I only share information if:
You ask me to.
I am legally required to.
There is a risk you may harm yourself or others. There is a risk someone else may harm yourself or others. I am required to break confidentiality if I become aware of acts of terrorism, safeguarding issues, illegal activity, or misuse of vulnerable adults. You should therefore be cautious about sharing any information with me that may mean I have to break confidentiality. If I am considering breaking confidentiality for the reasons outlined, I will normally try to discuss this with you first, but I have the right to share this information without consent to protect you or others.
Your rights
You can:
Ask to see the information I hold about you.
Ask me to correct it.
In certain circumstances you have a right to have personal data held about you erased. There are some circumstances where this cannot be done and so any requests for information to be erased will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Ask me to stop using your information.
Withdraw consent if you previously gave it for optional processing of information such as session recordings.
